Industrial

Home   Over the years we have produced numerous parts that fall within no particular category, other than engineered parts.

The versatility of composites is such that they can be found in many uses traditionally the domain of more conventional materials like steel or even concrete.

The degree of precision now achievable with the more advanced manufacturing techniques such as autoclaving and hot pressing now makes composites a viable alternative to those materials.

Tooling for low production runs is cheap when compared with injection moulding tools. Whilst when hot pressed, parts can be cured in a matter of minutes.

Temperature is no longer the barrier it once was, with materials capable of withstanding in excess of 200 deg C. Fire retardant resins such as Phonlics are widely use in confined spaces such as aircraft cabins and public transport vehicles.

Super tough fabrics like Kevlar for protection. Carbon for it's light weight and high strength.

Twintex is a new polypropylene material that can be heat formed but is reinforced with either glass or now carbon. This tough material is finding uses in both aircraft and motorsport.

Without doubt composites are now an engineering material in their own rite.
