Pilots looking to install an oxygen system into there glider need to understand the two systems available to them. For many years the standard systems have been base on ex-military diluter demand systems with a large black regulator mounted by your head or the more popular Sabre constant flow system with the High/Med regulator mounted either on the bottle or on the side of the cockpit. Since Sabre no longer service the glider market and the supply of the older diluter demand systems is drying up pilots have looked for newer and better alternatives. Mountain High have solved the diluter demand problem with their revolutionary EDS system. For those pilots still wanting a Constant flow system (mainly due to cost) Mountain High offer the XCP system.

Both the EDS and XCP systems can be supplied with either very lightweight Kevlar cylinders or the more conventional Aluminium bottle. EDS Oxygen Systems

The EDS-D1 is the lightest, smallest and most capable on-demand oxygen system available that delivers altitude-compensated pulses of oxygen only as you inhale, using as little as 1/8, typically 1/6 the amount of oxygen at 1/4 the weight and volume over conventional constant-flow systems that deliver one liter per minute per 10,000 ft. The EDS-D1 has a precision micro-electronic pressure altitude barometer that automatically determines the volume for each oxygen pulse up to pressure altitudes of 32,000 ft. Higher altitudes are compensated with pulses of greater volume. The EDS-D1 is a truly automatic oxygen delivery system enhancing your safety and well-being.

The EDS-D1 operates with any regulator in our family. The EDS-D1 unit kit can upgrade any XCP or XCP system, as well as many others.

EDS Oxygen Systems

These Constant Flow XCP systems series are our most popular low cost oxygen system. These complete systems each include cylinder with CGA-540 valve with refill port and pressure gauge, Regulator, MH4 flowmeter, cannula, face mask and a tote bag for each station. Also included is our padded cylinder , a fully padded cylinder harness-caddy carry-case for seat-back mounting.

The MH3/4 have altitude/flow scale calibrated for the unique Oxymizer oxygen-conserving cannula. The scale is marked in 2,000 ft. increments for flight levels up to 18,000 ft for MH3. The MH4 has two altitude/flow scales. The left (compressed) scale is calibrated for the Oxymizer cannula and is limited to flight levels at 18,000 ft. and below. The right scale is calibrated for a standard cannula and face mask and is limited to 25,000 ft...

To receive the proper amount of oxygen, simply adjust the MH3/4 to where the scale reads the same altitude you are flying. The outlet flow of the MH3/4 can be adjusted well beyond the limits of the indicated scale for emergency purposes.

XCP Regulators/Gauged

These oxygen regulators are constant-pressure calibrated to deliver about 15 psig. (1 bar) of pressure dynamically (that is while flowing). They have been designed to stop the high-pressure inlet side while the low pressure outlet side is stopped (static no-flow condition) at a pressure of about 20 psig. This allows for a semi-remote on/off control action of the regulator. This is utilized in the EDS, and in the XCP systems when no masks are connected to any of the outlets.

The inline regulator does not include a bottle content gauge.
