Selecting a GPS or Palm computer Mount

All our mounts come in a variety of different mounting arrangements to suit individual pilots tastes and cockpit layouts.

When choosing which mount will be best consider:-

Cockpit entry and exit routes. (Easy exiting in an emergency is a fundamental requirement)

Lifting or non lifting panel.

Front opening or side opening canopy.

Existing mountings and other instruments.

Below we have set out some suggestions for you to consider:-

Side Vertical Removable Side Vertical Fixed Side Horizontal Fixed Instrument Panel Mounted Coaming Mounted Instrument Hole Mounted
SFM-120 SFM-110 SFM-130 SFM-140 SFM-150 SFM-160/165
Works in most cases and can be fitted to existing drop in camera mounts. This mount can be moved in all directions to allow optimum viewing and accessibility of the instrument Like removable but fixed both to the glider and is not able to rotate  like the SFM-120 Good for side opening canopies but presents problems when trying to detach cables in an emergency. Like the SFM-110 this mount is not as articulated as some. Good for lift up panels as the instrument wiring is kept short and exit routes are clear. Fully positional in all axis. Not quite as solid as an Instrument panel mount but a way of moving the mount to one side or if panel space is limited. Fully positional in all axis. This is for those with a spare hole in an instrument panel. Like all panel mounting option very good with lifting panels. Fully positional in all axis.
