| Severn Valley Sailplanes are
also involved in the repair and maintenance of
motorgliders. We carry full approval from both the BGA
and PFA to cover any work required to keep them
airworthy. Whether
you fly a Motorfalke or a Tiafun, a Nimbus 3DM or an
SF27M we can tailor the maintenance to suit.
All too often you put your aircraft in for maintenance
only to feel, when the bill arrives, that you've been
ripped off.
The next year you take it somewhere else -
always looking for an organisation you trust.
We realised long ago that
this was the case. So we set about changing the way we
approached the problem.
So what do we do
that's different ?
We involve you in the
process. If we feel that this or that requires doing we
will tell you. Most maintenance tasks can be planned in
advance. Then when the time comes we both know what's
involved and what the likely cost will be, no surprises.
It is our aim to have you as a long term
customer, not a past one.
All motorgliders covered by
the BGA are required to be maintained to the CAA's LAM
1999 schedule, and this can equally be applied to PFA
aircraft. At the end of the day it's the maintenance of a
motorglider that makes the difference between a good one
and a bad one & this gets reflected in its resale
value.
There is an adage within the
aircraft maintenance world, that, in much the same way as
using the bathroom, the job isn't over until
the paperwork is done.
We have gained experience the hard way over the years
when it come to sorting out paperwork problems. There are
very few short cuts that are worth taking and a good
audit of a set of logbooks nearly always shows up the
mistakes.
With links to major aircraft
maintenance organisations, you can be sure that all our
information is up to date. We also have at our disposal
test equipment and facilities that you would expect of
such organisations. The depth of inspection now required
under LAM 1999 require, amongst other things, that
reports be issued from the certifying inspector as to the
condition of fabric and wooden structure. This may
require access holes to be cut in order to visually
inspect. Less intrusive methods are
available but not generally to your average inspector.
For this sort of work a boroscope can make a lot of
difference.
The complexities of a
motorglider are not limited to the engine or airframe. It
is not uncommon to find a Motorfalke with a full IFR
instrument fit. This may be left over from a former life
in Germany, or the whim of the owner, but without proper
certification at the appropriate intervals the
implications with respect to the paper work are horrific.
This is an area we can advise on and, if required, point
you in the direction of an appropriately licensed
engineer.
We pride ourselves in
carrying out a good job at a realistic price.
We will do the depth of inspection required to keep your
aircraft in good condition.
We will see that all applicable mods and AD's have been
complied with. We will issue the correct paperwork to
cover any work that we do.
In short
we offer the sort of professional service that you've
been looking for.
If
you own or operate a Motorglider or PFA aircraft and
would like a breath of fresh air when it comes to
maintenance then why not try us for yourselves.
